The main menu will lead you in the right direction. Follow it from top to bottom. On a computer, this menu pane will be on the left hand side in the navigation pane. On a mobile phone, you need to tap the menu icon in the bottom left corner to see it. On a computer, each page will also have a table of contents to help you navigate each subsection on that page (table of contents not available on mobile phone). You can toggle between Browse and Main Menu to flip back and forth between the structured navigation pane and the general outline. It's recommended to use the structured Main Menu view.
The main menu is split up into a few different sections:
Each section begins with an introduction page, with subpages below it. Each subpage will show you a breadcrumb structure, allowing you to see which folder you're in.
This section contains the basic starting point for your journey. You are in this section now!
This section contains the general Event Guides for various roles. These guides are not specific to each event, but rather cover the overall ideas that apply to every event.
Everyone should start with reading the Attendee Guide, as it covers all the basic things you'll need to know, especially regarding safety. Everyone present at our events is considered an attendee. The Exhibitor Guide is important to read for anyone hosting a canopy tent, such as artists/vendors, promo booths, and theme camps.
This section houses all the Volunteer Guides.
Volunteers must read the General Volunteer Guide first.
Then move on to the specific guide for your department.
It's a good idea to also familarize yourself with other departments, especially ones that are closely related.
Departments inlude:
This section covers the specific details for each unique event. Each event will have its own Operating Plan.
Each Operating Plan under the Operations section will house the outline and plan for each event. The details will include things like:
Combined, the Operation Plan and Event/Volunteer Guides outline the who, what, when, where, how, and why. They work together, and are all important.
Think of it like this:
Event Guides cover the what, how and why for various roles, such as attendee and exhibitor.
Volunteer Guides cover the what, how and why for each volunteer department.
Operating Plans are the blueprint for each unique event, and include the who, when and where.
Collectively they form a structure.
Operating plans are the top of the pyramid, with specific details for the actual event location, timeline and structure.
Event and Volunteer guides are the base of the pyramid, containing a wide knowledge of processes that repeat at every event.
